Personal Project

Artist Statement

My artistic practice moves between photography and intervention, exploring new ways of expanding the image beyond its original form. I use photography as a starting point—a fragment of reality— which I later transform through drawing and mixed media techniques. This process allows me to break the limits of the photographic surface and open it to new layers of meaning. By combining photography, drawing, and mixed media, I create hybrid works where the image becomes a space of dialogue between disciplines. The intervention is not an addition, but a continuation—an intuitive gesture that reinterprets what was already there. My work reflects an ongoing search for a more personal and experimental visual language, where texture, line, and materiality play an essential role. I am interested in the tension between control and spontaneity, between the captured image and the transformed one. Through this process, I aim to create a new form of expression that connects the visible with the imagined.

Project "Parallel Realities"

From the smallest and most everyday moments to the most transcendental, our perception constructs realities that do not always align with a single truth, much like the idea proposed in Plato’s allegory of the cave. We inhabit the same universe, yet we do so in parallel, interpreting it through different perspectives that rarely intersect.

In this work, the notion of parallel reality is brought into the interior of the human being—an intimate space that can, at times, become dysfunctional. Each individual contains multiple compartments: the body, reason, and emotion, which in turn fragment into many deeper layers. These internal structures coexist in a fragile balance, separated by an almost invisible membrane that holds them together, yet can easily break.

To represent this inner complexity, I sometimes use the pomegranate as a visual allegory. This fruit, seemingly compact and unified on the outside, conceals within it a fragmented structure made up of multiple compartments coexisting within the same space. Each seed represents a part of our identity—our emotions and thoughts—connected yet independent.

Through light, space, and emptiness, my work seeks to invite the viewer to reflect on their own perception, on the realities they construct, and on those created by the people with whom they interact.
